The First Choice Heating & Cooling story starts with Bryan McIntyre. Bryan was a former service technician who harbored a desire to start his own business. He had a vision for the new company: his customers should always be treated the way that he and his team would like to be treated. This sounds like a simple concept, but it’s surprising how rarely contractors in the industry abide by it. Bryan wanted to make customer service the center of his new company, and so he founded First Choice Heating & Cooling in 2001.
Part of Bryan’s philosophy of friendly service is that our technicians never engage in high-pressure sales tactics that might make customers uneasy. The technicians at First Choice Heating & Cooling don’t act as salespeople—they act as technicians, which is exactly what customers need them to be. When you schedule your HVAC, water heater, geothermal, or indoor air quality services with our team, you’ll have technicians on the job who are truly looking to deliver the best workmanship and service. Customer satisfaction is important to us—we want to make both customers and their homes happy!
Because we have moved our focus away from pushing for upgrades and unnecessary, costly replacements to the proper completion of vital work and preventive services, we can keep our customers’ HVAC equipment running in peak condition for as long as possible. We are more than happy to help our customers when they do need upgrades, installations, and system replacements—we’ll offer honest advice to help guide people to their best options.

We offer clients a great maintenance plan that entitles them to considerable savings and, of course, the peace of mind that comes with knowing that their systems are in fine working condition. We currently have approximately 650 maintenance agreements, and we’d love to add you to that roster. Our technicians are constantly training, and we hold both Michigan Mechanical and Michigan Boiler Installer licenses.
